Juicy Hamburger knows whats up!

If you check www.believeinone.com  at all, you probably saw the little blade life section on AMall owner Justin Hertel.  And if you have even a tiny interest in blading, you probably read this.  For those of you who didn't I suggest you check it out, and read what he has to say(some good stuff).  For the people who don't like to read long things like this interview, I'm going to just post a little part from it that is pretty radical...

As we know from your print ad in the ONE Skater of the Year Issue and your clip in the ONEvideo, Justin Hertel can not only run a shop, he can skate too. With that being said...what does the term “skater owned” mean to you?
I ran the ad with the “skater owned” caption because I think people throw “skater owned” around too loosely. It’s almost like saying the sky is blue. It’s obvious when you are, and obvious when you’re not (a rollerblader/rollerblade owned).

This answer couldn't have come at a better time for me.  If you read this blog, I am sure you read my post on Flatline owner Rob(not, and never was a rollerblader), and his completely rediculous comment about the need for a commercial of the "best of the best", and boot companies like Razors not giving anything back( I don't know what you call paying Dre Powell to fly to NJ for the weekend to hang out, skate, etc.)  Either way, people really need to start choosing who they support.  You may not think that whether you buy those new skates from a 43 year old Polish man, or a skater owned shop, makes much of a difference, but your probably wrong.  If your naive enough not to think this makes a difference, well, starting thinking a little bit more!

PS- I apologize for all the negative posts lately, about what seems to be always the same thing, but at least by getting it off my chest here, it stops me from doing something really dumb, which I do way too often.

  2. Before you start running your mouth you should get your facts right! Flatlines is the best skate shop in the tri-state area. I wouldn't even call your little setup a skate shop it's more like a closet. Rob does more for skaters and his community than you've ever done. Trying to start drama for business is really lame. I guess if your business was doing so well you wouldn't open your mouth. All I'm saying is shut your mouth before someone shuts it for you. You're not built for it so don't start it. BIG CHRIS

  3. hmmmm... dont really kno where to begin. "big Chris" i think u need to get some of ur facts right bcos from wut i read all greg was sayin is to support a "skater owned shop" over a shop owned by an ex-skate boarder. And b4 u start sayin about helpin the community im pretty sure i was at a cure cancer benefit hosted by greg himself. Im also pretty sure i didnt c ne1 from flatlines throwin out FREE product at the gnarbq this year. Theres also NO reason to throw a threat out there like that unless ur a skateboarder also.

  5. fake true religion jeans, timberland boots, spray paint, new era hats, and several skateboard companies...none of which are carried in my rollerblade shop...take all that shit out and your left with a store the size of a closet like mine...half of the views on this blog are from people who eat this shit up...people love "beef"...and while these people are checking for updates with more "beef", they also see all my current sales, new products, upcoming events, etc. which is the entire point of this blog. And starting drama to get more business is not lame, its smart. More business is never lame, it keeps my doors open. And by not carrying the above mentioned products, I will never make as much money as flatlines, but at least I know that I am not a fraud, acting like I am something that I am not. That my friend is lame. That is a line I will never cross to get more business. Check out one of those BEEF documentaries from Blockbuster, about beef between hip hop artists, and how this staged beef creates millions of dollars in record sales.

  6. This is what is wrong with the skate industry instead of coming together and giving each other props and finding a way to collaberate on things together everybody wants to hate you have your way of doing things for your business and I'm sure flatlines has their way and they service their community which was seen just this past weekend with the Summer Heat skate comp! There is enough room for the both of you stop hatin and grow up and act like men
